AboutI started my career as a research FORTRAN programmer for a regional health planning agency in 1981. When the agency closed in 1985, I formed my own business to service its former constituents, and have been successfully serving clients ever since. I'm proud to say that to this very day, I still occassionally do work for one of my original clients! Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of projects, using a such a wide variety of technologies that I can hardly remember them all. Some interesting examples: an early (1980's) PC-based Modula-2 lease pricing and analysis system, a C++ numerical analysis library used to optimize the maintenance schedule of the space shuttle for NASA, a combinatoric portfolio management optimization system (also in C++), and a Java-based mobile agent development kit. |

Most of the projects I've worked on, from the very beginning, have included a strong component of working with data, most often to automate costly manual processes, or to support informed, data-driven decision-making. I have a PhD in Economics (emphasis in quantitative modeling), and a Masters degree in Computer Science (emphasis in computer modeling and simulation). I have taught computer science and software engineering at several colleges and universities, including USF, College of San Mateo, Golden Gate University, and Mills College, where I am currently teaching a course in Programming Languages which I last taught there almost twenty years ago. Why work with me?
You can take a look at some of my more recent projects here>. Please contact me if you have any questions or think I may be of assistance to you on a project. |
